I wanted to take a moment to express my feelings
to you about the dinner the other night.
It was a very special night for me in many
ways. I got to share the night with my brothers, and I saw
a light in Durk that was very exiting for me to see :)
The tour Durk gave us was simply AMAZING.
I could see the passion in him and how much fun he was having
showing us all the treasures in the house. He shared the
history that is part of who we are and of the Tom of Finland
Foundation. It was a very unique and special experience
for us all.
Thank you for the vest. I'm still overwhelmed
over the gesture and you have no idea what that means to
me. Durk presented me with leather — a unique piece
of leather in front of my brothers. It truly was an experience
that I will never forget. Thank you.
Before I had the pleasure to meet Durk I knew
of him, and admired him, and loved him just for what he’s
done in our community, with the love for the art and creativity
within him towards our leather world. There are so many
other things that if I start to mention them all in this
email I would not end ;)
As I get the opportunity to know Durk further
— to experience him, to know the man that he is, rather
than just the Image I had of him before I met him personally,
and continue to know the man he is — I am discovering
the immensity of the space in his heart for our community.
There is space for all his leather brothers and sisters,
and that makes me admire and appreciate him even more every
day.
Durk is truly an inspiration to me and the
admiration I had for him before only continues to grow with
each passing day. He is a true Mentor and Teacher... the
passion in him that drives him to share his life and his
world with us is truly special.
I feel very honored to be part of that and
I'm humbled that he has been so true-hearted and generous
with me by allowing me to be part of his world. I look forward
to continue to learn from him and to continue to experience
the wonderful man that he is.
