This selection represents artwork recently donated to
the Tom of Finland Foundation’s Permanent Collection. These and
other pieces will be shown in the annual exhibition at the ToFF House.
This show opens with the Artists Reception, which is part of our West
Hollywood - Los Angeles Erotic Art Fair Weekend (October 6 - 8, 2006).
The Foundation does not use its funds for the acquisition of artwork,
but rather depends on gifts and bequests from artists, patrons and collectors.
The Foundation is able to display many of these works due to generous
contributions to a program, “Be Part of the Art”, which
allows art enthusiasts to “adopt” a piece from the Permanent
Collection by making a donation to have it framed. Both the donor’s
and the “guardian’s” names are listed every time the
work is shown — if they so choose.
The Foundation was created by Tom of Finland and Durk Dehner to preserve
Tom’s body of work. Very soon the two realized that the Foundation
must be for all erotic art. ToFF is pleased that of the 3,500
extraordinary pieces in its Permanent Collection, over half are originals
by other individuals who have created erotic art.
We are thankful for all the ways people have supported our efforts.
