Images from the No-Tell Motel
by Richard Chau-Davis
Artwork by Chau-Davis
Open to the public on San Pedro’s monthly 1st Thursday Art Walk
on March 1, 2007 from 7 – 11 PM, and by appointment.
Adults only, please.
Chau-Davis
premiers his controversial and dazzling series at Flazh!Alley
Studio in San Pedro, CA.
Artistically uncompromising,
fearless, wonderfully raunchy and unapologetically heterosexual
are adjectives that apply to the works of San Diego, CA art
photographer, Richard Chau-Davis.
His application of the kinetic art style, reminiscent of Marcel
DuChamp's, Nude Descending Staircase and Edward Muybridge's
early photographic images of people and animals in motion, dramatically
presents the spirited frolic of the sexes in the arena that
long ago became the icon of the no-holds-barred one nighters,
the motel.
Chau-Davis' images
visually embody his concepts; indeed, they were actually photographed
in various motels in San Diego creating an ambiance of highly
charged eroticism.
