Palanca

Palanca is a Peruvian artist
known for his homo-fetish art which centers on the bare male foot. At
early age, he started creating cartoon characters and some depict homoeroticism.
Palanca began making underground erotic drawings in 1982. It wasn’t
until 1994, after a short summer holiday in Spain, when he decided to
do something to introduce his work to the Gay public. Then his pseudonym
was born (Palanca in Spanish means lever, or a closer definition, gear
shift.
Palanca applies the same
skill needed to finely delineate the male foot to the rest of the anatomy
with crudely sexual and delicious results. Please add some Palanca’s

"Portraits
make the best of mirrors; they are the most immediate reflections of
our selves. Newborns instinctively interact with the external environment
through facial expressions. In fact, infants learn how to be through
a process called mirroring. For some children, the process of mirroring
is so pure that they learn to intuitively read their parents’ psyche,
become sensitive to the workings of their mind, perhaps even glimpse
at their very essence. Social institutions such as family, state and
religion condition the ego and the process of unlearning the conditioned
patterns requires awareness. Identity then emerges as a complex and
interconnected set of phenomena with the paradoxical characteristic
of being simultaneously impersonal and intimate. At once universal and
unique."

Garilyn had a heart attack
8th April while on dialysis. Garilyn Brune’s art dealer, Michael
Feder, reports his art is safe, protected — and will continue
to blossom in the world.
Garilyn was the grand prize
winner of the Foundation's 1995 Emerging Erotic Artist Contest with
his very controversial entry Cock Suckers for Christ. The work
spurred responses from Wales to New South Wales, letters as much as
five pages long, covering the whole range of possible opinions. It is
routinely on display at TOM House and was exhibited at ONE Gallery in
2011.

It appears all of Tom of
Finland’s men – Black and White and in-between – have huge cocks and
big butts. Is he stereotyping Gays? Does that mean we really all have
bigger dicks than Straights?? (Let ‘em think we do. . .)
What Tom didn’t draw were
stereotypes they put on us. Society chose to type Homosexuals as weak,
girly, lesser than – thereby controllable. Tom made us strong and self-assured;
we could be anything we wanted to be – cops, soldiers, sportsmen, bikers
– rock stars, performers - anything.
TOM’s Men, as we call them,
would “top” at the beginning of a story and “bottom” a few pages later.
Tom drew Black masters with White slaves. And White masters with Black
slaves. He went out of his way to break down the “I-don’t-suck-dick-I’m-a-top”
mold we even imposed on ourselves.

There Was
Stonewall
L.A. heroes stood up to abuse
and fought back against discrimination before 1969.
Cops here routinely raided
bars arresting anyone whose perceived gender didn’t match what was on
their ID, sometimes they’d even single out a few victims for special
attention in the form of insults and beatings. Entrapment was common
– attractive vice cops would go to Gay bars, bathrooms and cruising
spots, pick up folks and arrest them, or wait outside of Gay hangouts,
trail two men as they walked home and break in to catch them in flagrante
delicto.
The May 1959 clash with police
at Cooper’s Donuts is recorded as the world’s first Gay uprising.
