EMERGING EROTIC ARTIST CONTEST 2001

erotic art weekendWe are happy to announce the 4th Emerging Erotic Artist Contest, a biennial event designed to nurture amateur artists and give them the opportunity to introduce their work to the art world through an international competition. The main criterion for entering the contest is that the artist has not yet begun selling any of her or his erotic art.

Entering (and winning!) the Contest gave photographer Jay Jorgensen renewed inspiration to produce provocative images such as this

Entries will be judged by a five member panel of judges from the arts. The scoring is done anonymously, using the same scoring as the Olympic games. The contest's categories are single figure, multiple figure, fantasy/fetish, and photography. Works may be in any medium, including sketches, paintings, sculpture, photography, or mixed media.

The main change for this year's contest is that we will no longer accept original artworks – each contestant must instead submit an 8.5 x 11 inch copy of his or her work. By instituting this change, we insure that the artists themselves have final control over how their work appears to the judges.

We shall soon be sending out a call for artists throughout the world, and we welcome all who fall within the parameters to enter. The Grand Prize is always a worthy reward, and can sometimes be a life-changing experience (for an example, please read the article by last year's co-winner Jay Jorgensen in the previous issue of the Dispatch) .

Applications are available from the Foundation by download from our website, by email requests, or by calling or writing the office. Completed applications and samples of work must be received by the Foundation no later than July 31, 2001. The winners will be announced by October 1, 2001, and their works will be displayed during the Seventh Annual Erotic Art Fair to be held in mid-October.

Good luck! And please tell your artist friends about this great opportunity!
