LOS ANGLES GAY PRIDE
FAIR'S The Foundation was invited to have a presence at the Los Angeles Gay Pride Festival this past June. The organizers were trying something new, an area of the fair called “Erotic City.” It was intended to provide an experience of more adult material for the fair’s visitors—and hopefully to be more inclusive by bringing more of the alternative community to the fair.
The Foundation had a pavilion tent where we invited local artists to exhibit their works for one and two-day exhibitions. Sculptor Philip Hitchcock gave a live demonstration. We also had a large screen TV which played documentaries of Tom of Finland and a rough version of the Tom of Finland animation work in progress—which will be a public service announcement for safe sex. On Sunday afternoon the Foundation hosted Lalo, Hector Silvia, and Palanca, which was a delight to the large Latino populace in attendance.
