Photographer Jay Jorgensen and models from his book Shades
of Desire will be signing copies of the photographer’s
new monograph at A Different Light Bookstore in West Hollywood.
The book makes an excellent holiday gift for a lover, friend,
or even that unshockable relative.
Comprising ten years of the photographer’s work, the
book features well-built male models captured in Jorgensen’s
classic style. Jorgensen turns his subjects into elegant works
of art with only available light, which gives the viewer the
feeling that they are watching a spontaneous, caught moment.
Using mostly friends as subjects, Jorgensen canvassed locations
in Southern California -- from the pools of Los Angeles to
the desert of Palm Springs. The book is themed on the many
levels of desire, from good to bad, and even pays homage to
the filmmaker Jean Cocteau’s La Belle et la Bete.
