In 2012, the theme of Helsinki Pride is Space
SATURDAY - PRIDE PARADE: Balloons, great music and happy
rainbow people. The Pride Parade is a manifestation on equal rights
and diversity and it will be seen and heard! We start gathering at 12
noon on Senaatintori Square and the parade starts at 1:00 PM
moving from the city centre to Pride Park Hakasalmi. Senaatintori square.

at us in the parade!
Helsinki Pride is the biggest GLBT event in Finland. It
is held every year on the last week of June and is with its over 19,000
visitors is also one the biggest week-long events in Helsinki. It is
organised by Helsingin seudun SETA ry, a non-profit GLBT organisation
in Helsinki.
Helsinki Pride consists of parties, meetings and discussions,
the highlight being the Pride Parade across the city centre.

The opening party will be held on the 26th of June from
5:00 to 8:00 PM. The exhibition is opened by Finnish
Cultural Minister Paavo Arhinmäki.

The Art is So Gay exhibition will present an uniquely
wide selection of contemporary art as a part of Helsinki Pride Festival
2012. The exhibition opens on the 26th of June at the Forum Box gallery
in Helsinki. The exhibition will present the widest selection of art
on sexuality and gender in Finland to this date. Included are 40 artists
whose works deal with the diversity of sexuality and identity.
The exhibition will include paintings, sculptures, installations, photography,
drawings, media art, video and performances. The artists are not selected
according to their sexual orientation, but how their works fit the Pride
theme.
